PISES Introducing Mathelatics, The next generation of learning

Welcome to the Mathletics Community!

PISES is now introducing “Mathletics” as an important part of its maths learning programme. Your child will now have 24 hour access to Mathletics through a unique username and password for whole academic session 2011-12. This means that students can work at their own pace; any where, anytime.

Mathletics is a web-based learning program that integrates home and school learning via the internet; it is one of the world’s most used educational websites. As an online learning resource it is the next generation in learning, helping students enjoy maths and achieve outstanding results.

Mathletics at Home

We recommend that you spend time looking at the program with your child so that you can gain the greatest understanding of how Mathletics will benefit his or her learning. As a parent or guardian, you can register for a Parent Centre and sign up to receive Weekly reports. These reports will provide you with details on your child’s progress and achievement. Each student’s Mathletics account holds information relating to individual results and progress. Unfortunately, it is not possible to correct results or retrieve credits if the account has been accessed by someone else.

Students are also provided with the opportunity to adopt Study Skills during their courses. Which are particularly helpful when students are considering their choices for IGCSE & A-Levels.

The classes look at the following areas:

  • Preferred learning styles

  • Note taking skills

  • Reading for different purposes

  • Memory skills

  • Essay planning & writing skills

  • Curriculum support for examination subjects

  • Revision skills & strategies

  • Exam techniques

  • Stress management

  • Analytical & critical thinking skills
