Our well stocked libraries support the curriculum and the reading programmes in our schools while encouraging students to carry out reading tasks at home. All classes visit the Library each week. During these sessions the librarian reads a story or some poems to children and encourages reading. The librarian can offer guidance to pupils when browsing and help them choose appropriately, but one of our aims is to encourage children to enjoy all sorts of books and allow them freedom to make their own choices. Children should bring their books back to the library each week. However they will be allowed to renew their books if no other child has reserved the book. There is always keen competition to borrow the most highly prized titles and this rule keeps books in circulation. We would like to enlist your help in reminding children to pack their books into their Book Bags the night before Library day.
Late Returns – In the first instance the librarian works with the Class Teacher to remind your child. If the book is not returned, the librarian will send home a note identifying the title and asking you to help look for it.
Missing Books – If the book cannot be found there is a standard replacement fee chargeable for the lost book. This should be paid to the Administration. As ever, the library remains indebted to everyone who has been kind enough to donate books and those who give up their time to help.
